Iain was born in Shirley, UK and went to King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and after trying his vocation as a Capuchin Friar he eventually trained as a nurse and worked for 30 years with the elderly.  From 1984 to 1986, he helped Hamish Fraser in obtaining material for his journal ‘Approaches’.
